Other Parent Information for week of November 2

Two items for your attention this week:

Please be watching for your child’s report card. It should be arriving by the end of this week/beginning of next week. Hopefully there will be no surprises for you—feel free to discuss it with me if you have any questions.

I will be away from school Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week. My youngest daughter is getting married this Saturday and I am quite busy with last minute preparations and out of town family arriving (AND feeding the 5000!). The class will be very capably managed by Mrs. Enos, a very dear friend who taught with me over 20 years ago. I have prepared all the lesson plans for her and she will expect the same level of performance from your child as I do. Please encourage your child each day to support her with exemplary self control and obedience. Thank you in advance for your support. As always, I will be continually available by e-mail if you need me for anything.

Bible for week of November 2

IMPORTANT Parent Information for week of October 26

As we begin the 2nd quarter, please read carefully below.
CIRCLE OF BLESSING
Even as adults, we are in constant need of reminders in our lives. With this in mind, I would like to remind you as parents about our Circle of Blessing. First grade, as part of GCS, is committed to your child’s spiritual growth as well as their academic progress. Their progress in learning is in many ways a reflection of the character of their obedience. Academic growth follows listening ears and a compliant heart. Spiritual growth and blessing even more closely follow our obedience to God’s authority and standards. It is a matter to be taken seriously at every level. With this in mind, I urge you to partner with me in holding your child accountable to classroom standards for behavior. When their sheep strays from the circle it is because they are either not obeying or respecting authority the Lord has put before them. Many of the children are not taking seriously the position of their sheep. Please help me by letting your child know the importance of learning NOW rather than when they are older, the blessings of obedience and submission to those in authority,
Consequences at home are an appropriate response for wayward sheep. Thank you for your support in this.

Other Parent Information for week of October 5

Thanks so much to each of you who came to support us in chapel last Friday. The children did a great job and what a joy for me personally to see them give God’s Word back to Him.
As you go through your child’s graded papers each week, please know that many grades are lower than they could be. Many of the children are having challenges with listening and following directions carefully. Most of the time the children understand the concept but do not work carefully. Please encourage your child to strive for their best on their work. Thanks!

I will generally post it in 3 sections: “Bible”, “Homework” and “Other information”. Please let me know other ways I can serve you or pray for you and your families.
