Other Parent Information for week of May 17
Our trip to the zoo was wonderful. Thank you SO much to all of you parents who sacrificed your time to drive and make our day so special.
Please see enclosed fliers concerning our final trip of the year to the beach.
Dress for International Day: jeans and a T-shirt from another country. You DO NOT need to buy a new shirt—a uniform polo is just fine. Also, if your child has a dress from another country that is OK as long as it is comfortable to be at school in for the whole day (recesses, etc.) Please let me know if you have any questions.
International Day: June 2
You may sign up for any ethnic food, even if it is not the same as the report country. Just let me know! Thanks!
· INTERNATIONAL DAY: Country “sloppy copies” are due no later than May 24. We will rewrite them together in class.
· BEAR BAG: Jacob Burroughs will take our Bear Bag home this week. This will be Baxter’s last visit home for the school year. We have had fun sharing the Bear Bag.
This week and next week are our last 2 weeks of academics. Our schedule for the last week of school will be different. I will send that schedule home next Monday. I will also help with ideas for helping your children over the summer. This year has gone SO fast! I am not ready to let go of your children. I have so enjoyed them. Let me know how I can be praying for you this week.

We successfully sent 5 butterflies out into the world! What a fun experience
We are so excited about our field trip to the zoo this Thursday. Please be sure your child comes with a throw away lunch. Also please don’t forget field trip T-shirts. We will leave at 9 am and return by 3:15 pm. Sunscreen is also a good idea (apply before leaving home) and sturdy walking shoes.
Monday, May 17 is Field Day for GCS. First grade will be doing Presidential Fitness Tests from 8:30-11:30 am in the gym. Please join us for all or part of the morning. The children should wear PE appropriate shoes and attire.
· BEAR BAG: Cassandra Fawzi will take our Bear Bag home this week. Finally Baxter will get to leave campus for the weekend!
What a blessing to still have a few short weeks with the class. They are at a stage now where we are being able to explore and do things they couldn’t do a few months ago. I am enjoying them immensely. Thank you for each one of them! Please let me know how I can pray for you and help you prepare for summer.

“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men.”

I am on call for jury duty this week May 3-7. Mrs. Enos is on call to cover for me if I am asked to report.
It is hard to believe there are just a few short weeks left in the year and so much I still want to do with your children. I am definitely not ready to let them go!! I pray that we will continue to strive to do what remains in such a way that the Lord is pleased with our efforts.
